Standard Kinetic only requires a shop floor employee to key in their identification number to clock in. It’s quite easy for a coworker to clock someone in who’s actually not present. This is the basic level of BCS, fingerprint clockin – instead of entering the ID number they simply scan their thumbprint.

In some key operations, a company may require only certain trained staff to complete an entry, and this can be done with a fingerprint scan. This same functionality can be deployed to require multiple authorized staff for certain tasks or any combination of use cases for this technology.

Biometric Authentication for MES

Fingerprint Authorization

Employees may be required to authenticate themselves using a fingerprint scan when logging into the MES system.

This adds an extra layer of security by ensuring that the person accessing the system is indeed the person they claim to be.

Employees scan fingerprint several times, and sign the signature pad to set up their base identification

Supervisor Authentication

Labor Activity Authentication

The system mandates fingerprint authorization particularly when an employee is ending a labor activity, especially when that activity involves recording a quantity greater than zero.

This ensures that all work completed is properly accounted for and authenticated, reducing the risk of falsified or incorrect labor entries.

When completing an action that requires ID verification, the shop floor data entry program prompts for their fingerprint. Once data is entered, the system requests the user's signature.
